Created in 2008, Papahan Films is a production company headed by its Managing Director Edmund Dion Lim and Creative Director M. Raihan Halim. Together with Producer, Asra Aman, Papahan Films aims to push boundaries of storytelling in any and every medium. Known for its award-wining dramas, Daddy At Home (2010) and Yazid Wears Diapers (2008), their highly-acclaimed heist telemovie, Big Time In Little Street (2009) was nominated for best telemovie in 2010 Asian Television Awards. In 2013, they won Best Telemovie in the Mediacorp Suria Pesta Perdana for their telemovie Mr Perfect (2011). In 2013, Papahan Films broke new ground by making their first feature film, Banting, to be released in August 2014.
Often calling himself a “part-time scriptwriter, fulltime storyteller”, M. Raihan Halim’s career in television began after winning two Golden Pen Awards at the MDA: National Scriptwriting Competition in the years 2005 and 2007. He’s the only local writer/director whose television works transcends cultural lines and are featured in all four main channels in the country. Best known for his award-winning television dramas, his telemovie Yazid Wears Diapers (2008) and Mr Perfect (2011) garnered the Best Special Drama award in a local television award show and Big Time In Little Street was nominated in 2010 Asian Television Awards. While his career has kicked off through his love of conceptualizing and writing for the screen, he has broaden his expertise in television production by running his own shows with the making of Daddy at Home in 2010. He demonstrates his passion for great content by overseeing the script to the final product. He is currently working on his feature film, Banting.
